In a momentous development for the US Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), new officers have been selected to lead its Board for the year 2024. The announcement comes as a testament to the organization's commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and effective representation within the Muslim community in the United States.

USCMO has extended its heartiest congratulations to the Muslim Legal Fund of America (MLFA), the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), and the Muslim Ummah of North America (MUNA) for securing key positions of leadership within the organization. Sr. Arshia Ali-Khan, CEO of MLFA, has been appointed as the Board Chair, while David Rodriquez from CAIR will serve as the Secretary, and Dr. Mohammad Nakibur Rahman of MUNA will take on the role of Treasurer.

The unique selection process employed by USCMO involves an annual draw among its founding member organizations, ensuring equitable opportunities for all members to contribute to the organization's leadership and mission. Notably, the process excludes organizations that have previously held leadership positions, fostering the infusion of fresh perspectives each year.

USCMO stands as a prominent umbrella organization, encompassing a diverse array of Muslim groups, ranging from national organizations to local councils, mosques, civil rights and legal rights entities, grassroots and relief organizations, youth networks, and individuals representing various ethnic and racial backgrounds. The organization remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering the Muslim community, celebrating its diversity, and amplifying its voice both nationally and internationally.

The selection of new officers marks a significant milestone in USCMO's journey, underscoring its dedication to fostering leadership that is reflective of the rich tapestry of experiences and perspectives within the Muslim American community. As the organization embarks on the year ahead under the guidance of its newly appointed leadership, it is poised to continue its vital work in advocating for the rights and interests of Muslims across the United States.
