Nina Ahmad Run for City Council at-large in Philadelphia

Bangladeshi American Dr. Nina Ahmad has announced her run for the post of 'Council at-Large' of the City of Philadelphia in the United States.In the 2020 Dr. Nina could not win the post of Pennsylvania State Auditor General as a Democrat candidate with 3.129 thousand 131 votes. Timothy Lionel DeFoor of the Republican Party won with 3.3 million 38 thousand 9 votes.

 

 

Ahmad, who moved to Philadelphia from Bangladesh when she was 21 years old, previously worked as deputy mayor in Mayor Jim Kenney's administration for two years. She is currently the National Organization for Women's Pennsylvania State President (NOW). Dr. Nina also served as a member of President Barack Obama's Asian Affairs Advisory Council. That is, he has a strong position in the party as an organizer of the Mass people. As he told to the media that

 

“I’m running to make Philadelphia a healthier, stronger city. All of our challenges are rooted in our health. From crime and gun violence to housing and the environment, if we make Philadelphia a healthier city, we can make it a stronger, safer city”.

 

The election of the 17-seat city council will be held on November 7, along with the election of the city mayor.
